bdpress agency : RAJUK Chairman ABM Amin Ullah Nuri said, “I have always been by the side of any problem in Nikunja-1 residential area and I want to be by your side in future also.” He said, “I want to bring change in RAJUK through various positive initiatives.”
He further said, “that the word Nikunja means a house or a place covered with herbs in the forest. It is assumed that the present executive committee of the association is fulfilling this through their work.”
“In particular, I would like to thank the association for constructing a playground and a ‘walk way’ for the well-being of citizens of all walks of life, one of the key components of the intellectual development of children and adolescents in this residential area.”
He said this while addressing a special guest at the 9th Annual General Meeting of Nikunja-1 Residential Area Welfare Association held on December 25.
The general meeting which started at 10 am was presided over by the president of the association, eminent journalist Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury.
Former DMP commissioner and general secretary of the association Naeem Ahmed BPM read out the report of the general secretary at the 9th annual general meeting.
S M Nazmul Huda, treasurer of the association read out the report of the treasurer.
Among others, RAJUK’s Planning Member Mohammad Nasir Uddin and Development Member Major (Retd) Engineer Samsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury were also present as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said, “Our lives have been disrupted due to the coronavirus epidemic. We have lost many members. Now our life is becoming much more normal. We will all pray that we may continue to walk beautifully and healthily in the days to come.”
“We have always been and will continue to be active in the overall development of Nikunja-1. We have taken various initiatives for the development and prosperity of our area. I hope that with the cooperation of all the members of our association and the people of this area, we will be able to complete all the activities successfully.”
At the end of the program, RAJUK Chairman and other guests visited the development projects of the area and exchanged views with the leaders of the association on various issues and assured to do more development work to solve the problems.
